So You Made it To The Top Now What?

You have worked hard and did all it took to get to the top of the freight brokerage business what next you got it made right. But you forgot the golden rules of customer service, honesty and integrity and mostly importantly failed to keep building your business. What will happen next? Let’s see: Your Brokerage has had 29 dedicated Customers from all your hard work. 29 Customers who gave you the same freight week after week. Awesome! Then one day you come to work expecting business as usual. But, instead of 29 faxes, you only had 13. Thinking the fax machine was broken, you start calling your customers. Turns out, 3 of your Customers decided to sell out, 1 had to downsize, 1 lost his business in a divorce settlement, and was going to have to sell , While 9 decided to take their business elsewhere, 1 turned their business over to their son. Now what? You begin to call her your dedicated trucking companies and explain it to them. Then if they decided to stay with you, you will have to work your butt off to find loads to keep them happy. How did this happen? You took your Customers for granted. You didn’t stay in touch with them everyday, but worst of all you had quit prospecting. You forgot what you had learned in freight broker training, “NEVER STOP PROSPECTING’.What happened with your business? Only a few of the trucking companies stayed with you through the next six months. Eleven months later, you are down to 7 Customers and 8 months after that, you are out of business. How could have you prevented most of this? By providing excellent Customer Service. In doing this, you would have had some insight or warning, probably allowing you time to prepare for the changes. So now you see what can happen if you Stop Building your business
